I actually saw this happen once in a professional performance, though the play was “Much Ado about Nothing”, not “Romeo and Juliet”. The actor playing Benedick, being the pro that he was, picked himself up and ad-libbed (in perfect pentameter): “Thou canst not say I did not fall for thee.”
