By the time that the deniers become - believers because of overwhelming evidence -, it will be too late to do anything to reverse the damage. We have been legislating by crisis for far too long and the problems have grown to a point where planning ahead should have been done, but wasn’t.

Time for Republicans to reduce the forestry and fire budgets again so they can pay off their tax breaks for billionaires program.

Between that and the ongoing assault against our democracy since 1980 we are in a tight spot.

The warnings have been out there for over 50 years now. Read some of Raymond Dasman’s work from the late 50’s and 60’s. Started with Europe and Mediterranean, North Africa, 1953 coined “anthropogenic climate change”, not just “global warming”, and it started regionally.

And chiming in with Dtroutma – the concept dates back to 1896 (yes, EIGHTEEN ninety-six), when Svante Arrhenius did a rough calculation of how human-added CO2 could raise planetary temperatures, and did surprisingly well.

It’s not new, it’s not even hard – it’s about sixth-grade science. And we are the ONLY country in the world where one major party — the so-called conservatives, yet — refuses to accept the proven reality of anthropogenic climate change.
