I know someone who survived Boerhaave. It seems to have been caused by a tube (Breathing tube? I can’t remember now) she had put in just prior to surgery for an entirely different thing. Yet another reason to try to avoid hospitals.

OK, here’s my conspiracy theory: Jim Scancarelli is dead. Nobody wants to announce it, though, because they’re afraid we fans will leave. It’s the only possible explanation of why today’s strip doesn’t honor Veteran’s Day, especially considering the historic significance of today’s date.

Let’s see what happens tomorrow. Maybe the V-Day honor was planned for the FEDERAL HOLIDAY of the date. It would still be a shame, but a LITTLE understandable.
