He is using voter suppression to rig the governor’s race putting Democracy in danger in Georgia. The state is governed by old white men, and it doesn’t matter if voters want a forthright progressive African-American woman, they will block her.
Kemp has put Democracy itself on the ballot in Georgia. The citizens of Georgia will be deciding the fate of their democracy while they cast their ballots. The citizens of Georgia have an opportunity to repudiate Kemp, this is a chance to turn the tide against a larger assault on the power of the people to choose their representatives. The alternative is a continued attack on the franchise, aimed at insulating the GOP and its allies from accountability. It’s not just the future of democracy in Georgia that’s at stake, but American democracy, period.
