I’m good at math – not great, but I enjoy it, and I’m trying to figure out how I passed 3 calculus classes without understanding it…
I want to be an artist. I mostly like 3 dimensional stuff, but I currently don’t have any materials to work with. So I decided to participate in #Inktober. Thing is, I don’t draw well or easily, and prefer to draw with charcoal, pastels, or pencils, they are SO forgiving. So, if you want to point and laugh, I’ve posted every day this month on my twitter account (Tonda Creel).
The point of this (I know, I’m too verbose) is that what you do is every bit as important and difficult and talented and imaginative as Dan’s Dad with his brilliance in math. You are both talented and imaginative, these qualities are important to both. Don’t let someone else’s talents make you doubt your own, you’re doing great.
And I’m kinda jealous of you both, so I have no room to talk, do I?
When I was about 17 years old my mother and I visited an old college friend of hers and her husband. While the three adults went out to eat and drink I stayed at the house. After looking at their library of books I chose an algebra textbook and spent the rest of the time reading and studying it. My mom’s friend was very surprised that out of all the novels and other types of books available I picked that one on which to spend the quiet time.

Look at it this way. He tells all his friends about your cartoons and they all want to meet you. They’ll go to him if they have math problems.

The battle of the left brain- right brain and the feelings of low self esteem because we don’t have the same strengths.
