Let us hope there’s a lot of elephant tears come January and a new balance of power in Congress.

You made your bed of racism, compulsive lying, crimes against humanity, conspiracy with a foreign power, malignant narcissism, etc. Now you gonna lie in it while America buries you in the shallow grave of your own making!

If that happens Trump will sign an executive order erasing Nov. 6th from the calendar.

They will win because Dems just whine, they are too lazy to actually vote. They didn’t in 2010, 2014 and pouted in 2016 over Bernie.

The “Meddling” hasn’t slowed at all. Russian operatives have hacked our elections and our power grid, while our big brained President has corrupted every government department with his sycophants.

Rick Perry, who called for the abolishing of the Dept. of Energy, now runs it.

Mick Mulvanney runs the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, his first action, fired all 25 members of the advisory board.

Wilbur Ross, who served as vice-chairman at the Bank of Cyprus where he worked with Russian oligarchs to transfer, launder, Putin’s wealth. He only left that position after he was confirmed as Commerce Secretary. When he was asked if he did business with sanction countries, he responded that, “the White House has refused to allow me to respond to such questions.”

Betsy DeVos, who took the Secretary of Education job after Jerry Falwell Jr declined, she is the largest soft money contributor to the RNC and says she expects a return on her money. The American Federation of Teachers calls her “the most ideological anti-public education nominee ever.”

Steve Mnuchin, the foreclosure king, becomes Secretary of the Treasury.

Scott Pruitt’s disassembling of the EPA is legendary.

Ryan Zinke, Secretary of the Interior, who was selected by Carl Icahn for the position in exchange for a decision on biofuels effecting an energy stock he owned that netted him half a billion dollars.

… Trump has been destabilizing everything that took 200 years to evolve, not with a scalpel but with a wrecking ball. You can be sure that Putin has more weapons to attack our elections than two years ago and with our electronic voting machines, the results can be massaged and there is no trail.

“Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.”

“Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself.”

“Patriot: the person who can holler the loudest without knowing what he is hollering about.”

“To lodge all power in one party and keep it there is to insure bad government and the sure and gradual deterioration of the public morals.”

Mark Twain was correct then, and he’s STILL correct today!

So your answer is to give up? Dirty, hard ball politics is played by both sides, it always has been. Politics has been a blood sport in this country from the beginning. All politics are local and that is the saving grace of our electoral system, it makes it harder to hack. We have not been set back 200 years, that is hyperbole that serves no purpose. Women, people of color and non landed men can still vote. Women are allowed to work. Same sex couples can now marry, unthinkable ten years ago. As always progress comes with set backs. We are in many ways a far more progressive country now. We are fighting for transgender rights and not over colored drinking fountains or who can sit where in a restaurant. Pessimism too often leads to inaction as people feel powerless. History shows that we are not powerless.

There are some tight races around here. Claire McCaskill is even with her opponent in the Senate race. Laura Kelly is only 1 point behind Kris Kobach in the Kansas race for governor. Kobach speaks of fascist policies in an easy tone. Kobach taught trump everything he knows in terms of policy.
