    White House reporters, indeed it seems most establishment media reporters on US politics, gave up most of their dignity and self-respect for the sake of access, not to mention a lot of money.

    Well, I am sure many reporters would love (and could) give back as good as they get, but then you would have FOX and other right-wing state media complaining about the lack of objectivity and respect for the office (missing of course the big dump our present POTUS is taking there right now).

    This doesn’t work so well in other countries. For example the U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands ran into reporters who wouldn’t quit. Every time he dodged a question the next reporter asked the same question. This went on until one said “This is the Netherlands, you have to answer questions.”
