Not to mention mass shootings, the majority of which are committed by white, American males.

The family of Mollie Tibbetts has made it clear that their tragically murdered daughter considered Comrade TRUMPovich’s policies to be RACIST and have requested that Trump and the “despicable” (their words, throwing Don Jr’s words back in his face) TrumpubliCONs not PLAY POLITICS with a family tragedy the way they did with Benghazi (notwithstanding that far more diplomatic personnel were killed at diplomatic outposts under Bush than Obama and notwithstanding that then-President Obama and then-Secretary of State Clinton had requested increased security funding that REPUBLICANS VOTED DOWN).

Trump has used the expression that the killer caused “permanent separation of Millie Tibbetts from her parents” as if equating the killer (a murderer) with his policy on family separation is somehow equivalent.

In other words, Trump has just admitted equivalence between his policy on family separation with the heinous crime killer Cristhian Rivera committed against Mollie Tibbetts.

Trump is the one who made that comparison, so no Trumper can dispute that the criminal thug in the White House, is, by his own admission, implementing a policy he equates with murderer Cristhian Rivera.

Not one attack on “dangerous immigrants” should go without mentioning Las Vegas and the worst shooting in our history, thank the NRA and a good old American white guy for that.

Political rhetoric using personal tragedies is what the Republicans do – remember Teri Schaivo?

Maybe the Tumpublicans should consult the parents of Mollie Tibbetts before running off at the mouth.

The Trumpettes are complaining about the new Neil Armstrong movie without even seeing it. They say it is anti-American that they didn’t show the actual planting of the US flag even though there are several shots of the flag in the movie. Neil Armstron’s sons and the director have explained that the story is from Neil Armstrong’s POV and he considered the moon landing to be a HUMAN achievement. They focused on more powerful images like NA looking back at the Earth.

Just wanted to thank ZV for this illuminating look inside his head, in the form of a transcription of what he hears when people say words. (The alert reader will notice that he even adds punctuation that wasn’t there before. Not even the emotional import of the message remains intact.) It must have been so much work… for you.

Tell me Has there ever been a mass murder done by a deranged white male? It seems to me that all the despicable murders are done by illegal immigrants. If you doubt that ask Gabby Giffords.

The difference to Republicans in these deaths come down to the difference between Brown and White.

    Rep. Don Beyer✔@RepDonBeyer

This is not normal. Presidents do not build secret coalitions in Congress to support ousting their own Attorneys General.

The cloud of scandal around this White House, and their hatching of plots which would only make it worse, are unprecedented.

President Donald Trump started his Labor Day with an attack on a top union leader, lashing out after criticism from AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.

Trump tweeted Monday that Trumka “represented his union poorly on television this weekend.” He added: “it is easy to see why unions are doing so poorly. A Dem!”

In a Fox News interview Sunday, Trumka said Trump has done more to hurt workers than help them. Trumka said the administration has overturned workplace regulations that protect employees and hasn’t come up with an infrastructure program that “could put a lot of us back to work.”

Wages are down and gas prices are up, he added. And Trumka criticized the tax cuts Trump signed into law, saying they encourage companies to outsource jobs.

“Unfortunately, right now, the scale is weighted against him,” Trumka said.

“Defining deviancy down,” the catchy alliteration coined by Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D., N.Y.) is the 1990s equivalent of “permissiveness” in political rhetoric about crime and criminal justice.

“Men are so simple of mind, and so much dominated by their immediate needs, that a deceitful man will always find plenty who are ready to be deceived.”Niccolò Machiavelli

“Sir, I am an aristocrat. I love liberty, I hate equality.”John Randolph of Roanoke* (1733-1833).

“God, how patient are Thy poor! These corporations and masters of manipulation in finance heaping up great fortunes by a system of legalized extortion, and then exacting from the contributors — to whom a little means so much — a double share to guard the treasure!”Robert M. La Follette Sr., “Fighting Bob” (1855-1925)

A far better definition of neoliberalism (Libertarianism) is provided by Henry Giroux:“As an ideology, it construes profit-making as the essence of democracy, consuming as the only operable form of citizenship, and an irrational belief in the market to solve all problems and serve as a model for structuring all social relations.”

This would have been better if the tombstones showed the names of those killed in school and church shootings.
