Steve Kelley repeats a right-wing LIE. Obama NEVER ordered, used or accepted help from the IRS for any political retribution. That was an outrageous Faux “News” fake story.

The law on which the IRS regulations for non-profit 501c(4) corporations are deemed tax exempt is based states that the organization must be EXCLUSIVELY for charitable or community benefit. The IRS regulation written in 1959 to implement the statute states that such organizations must be PRIMARILY charitable for social welfare of the community and NOT POLITICAL.

Lois Lerner, head of the Cincinnati office where the events occurred, immediately ordered the events stopped when she learned of them, but likely did cover up after the fact. A Republican, she took office in 2001, also under George W. Bush, and also resigned in response to pressure from conservatives.

It is likely that this was a low-level bungling by people looking for shortcuts to isolate and identify POLITICAL groups applying for a designation, the authorizing statute for which, requires that they be EXCLUSIVELY social welfare agencies. In 1959, WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL, the IRS under Eisenhower issued enabling regulations (that remain in effect) changing the term from EXCLUSIVELY to PRIMARILY. Agencies have the right to issue rules within the statutory guidelines, but not to change them.

And if you don’t think there is a difference between EXCLUSIVELY and PRIMARILY, then try telling your wife that when you promised in your wedding vows to be EXCLUSIVELY faithful, it meant PRIMARILY.

Can anyone tell me with a straight face that Tea Party groups or Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS SuperPAC (also a 501c(4)) are not primarily political? [You do understand, do you not, that the “P” in PAC stands for “political”?]

That said, Rove got approved. EVERY SINGLE TEA PARTY group got approved.

Only one group got rejected and it was liberal.

Another LIE from another Trump Disciple.

Kelley is nothing if not consistent.

BTW, Kelley, you’d never see ANY president use security credentials for political retribution.

And, Nixon was the ONLY one who used the IRS against his political enemies.

Ignore Kelly. It’s just the usual “Trump diversion.” Never address the topic at hand. Just reference some other time that has no relevance to the question. It’s a “logical fallacy.” Reference here. https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/pdf/FallaciesPoster24x36.pdfKelly’s is “tu quoque” I think.

The usual right wing total exaggeration and knee jerk lie.

Trump’s revocation of security clearances for witnesses against him do not follow protocol, are political, and the despicable acts of a coward.

The United States intelligence community has grown wary of Trump’s Putin worship.

In 1974, a Bill of Impeachment against President Richard Nixon was approved by the House Judiciary Committee that included charges that his administration attempted to use the IRS in a discriminatory manner.

The NAACP was audited in 2004 after its chairman criticized then-President George W. Bush for failing to address the group, becoming the first president to do so since Herbert Hoover.9 The IRS informed the NAACP that the audit was prompted by then-NAACP-chairman Julian Bond’s speech, which “condemned the administration policies of George W. Bush on education, the economy and the war in Iraq.”10 Although the IRS maintained that the audit was an attempt to determine whether the NAACP had involved itself in a political campaign, the NAACP and Democratic Party representatives characterized the audit as an attempt to stifle criticism of Bush, intimidate NAACP members, and harm the NAACP’s get-out-the-vote campaign.910

If this non issue ( Where the IRS did it’s job, nothing to do with Obama ) is all your right wingers can come up with as an example of Obama’s abuse of executive power then Obama is truly the greatest president we ever had.

Oh good another “what about XXXXXX” argument from Mr. Kelley. This one is especially dubious with regard to the facts of what actually took place. Pulling Brennan’s was blatant abuse of power coming directly from the President (via Twitter no less). Many people have various levels of security clearance as a matter of necessity for their work, imagine a situation where thousands could lose their clearance, and subsequently their jobs, for voicing opposition to the President. That doesn’t sound like a democracy to me and we just taken a step closer to that scenario.

Just now, Trump’s campaign chairman Manafort is found guilty on 8 counts and Trump lawyer Cohen pleads guilty to various crimes including conspiring with Trump to subvert campaign finance laws. It’s Obama’s fault because…..

This is total crap. It is wrong on so many levels. I am tired of “But Obama…”

Kelley, it is time you began to hold Mr. Trump accountable for his crimes. Obama’s gone. You did a good job kicking him when he was in office. It is time for you to move on and demand that your boy Donnie do his job properly while he’s still in office.

Still can’t believe conservatives complained about the IRS giving “extra scrutiny” to TEA Party affiliated groups… I mean the groups name stands for Taxed Enough Already… and they were seeking to be exempt from paying taxes. smh… oh and they also conveniently forget to mention that more liberal leaning groups faced the same ‘extra scrutiny’ than conservative groups. They are so full of shitt.
