Oh, and St. Paul had nothing to do with the celibacy issue. The first written mandate requiring priests to be chaste came in AD 304. Canon 33 of the Council of Elvira stated that all bishops, presbyters, and deacons and all other clerics were to abstain completely from their wives and not to have children. A short time later, in 325, the Council of Nicea, convened by Constantine, rejected a ban on priests marrying requested by Spanish clerics.
The practice of priestly celibacy began to spread in the Western Church in the early Middle Ages. In the early 11th century Pope Benedict VIII responded to the decline in priestly morality by issuing a rule prohibiting the children of priests from inheriting property. A few decades later Pope Gregory VII issued a decree against clerical marriages.
Brain surgery is what is needed. The question is what exact type that will end their urge to have sexual relations with children? Once it is successful they are a new person and forgiveness then would be warranted. Otherwise they should be pitied for what they are burdened with that they cannot control. That gets lost in the horror that such things produce in our time. Very sad and terrible for all.
They know exactly what they did, and what they are doing. If they didn’t we wouldn’t see the elaborate coverup, transfers and recommendations for a job at Disney

Is this why the Pope wants open borders in America? To allow lots of Mexicans with lots and lots of children in?

Forgiving the ignorant is easy. Forgiving the ones that know better, that’s the difficult part.
Jesus wept, indeed.

That’s what the Founders of Catholicism overlooked when they demanded that their priests be celibate. Oh, St. Paul, what hast this wrought?

Forgiveness must be asked for. Covering up crimes means the priests aren’t sorry for anything except getting caught.
