The “downer” when taken shopping with my Mother for school stuff, she’d only let me purchase those “ugh” KEDS tennyshoes ! Most all of my friends got the good kind. The only thing out of it back then is that all of us kids wore the “high tops” as low cut tennys were not on the market yet ! (late ’50’s)

As a kid, the only things I liked to shop for were comic books, mystery books and toys. Not clothes and for sure not school supplies…
