Funny how Republican programs do the opposite of what they are named. Yesterday, the law that allowed more pollution was called the “Blue Skies Act.” Today’s “Religious Liberty” is designed to protect only the most radical, proselytizing elements of the country’s predominant religion.
Sessions should be impeached for chanting ‘Lock Hillary up’, with high school students recently. He is an extremely poor example of justice. But he loves republican hate and racism so he holds a high office.
It IS nice to know that when I take This Month’s Goat to the Courthouse steps in town for his sacrifice so I can read his entrails to predict the future, as specified by MY Religion, that I will have the FULL and TOTAL SUPPORT and BACKING of the Department of Justice! Thanks, Lil’ Jeffy!!!
It is so very, very sad how extremists (in this case, radical fundamentalist Christians) can drum up so much rage and power to convince an entire political party to misrepresent the truly valuable principle of religious liberty and freedom to be exactly the opposite. It is the truest form of Orwellian double-speak (aka “1984”).
I happen to ascribe to a faith myself, and my faith is a part of the realm of Christian faiths (although many of the radical fundamentalist Christian groups do not think it is part). It so very much saddens me how the extreme folks end up bullying the vast majority of us around. Canada seems to do so very much better at upholding rights (and respect for people) that we in the US so loudly proclaim we uphold, but do not.
