Is the point here that our sitting President should not appoint the next Supreme Court justice as our laws provide? Whatever.

Well, the GOP postponed the sitting president’s appointment for 11 months, regardless of what “our laws provide,” didn’t they? But that rule does not apply now since they are in control. So “whatever,” indeed.

The entire concept is really based on the premise of “When I do it, it’s okay; when YOU try to do it – it’s WRONG!”

The culmination of the ‘dream’ Conservatives have had since Nixon – that of a truly “conservative” court system, is about to come to fruition, and, trust me on this, no amount of whining and ‘bleating’ of referral to fairness and the pointing to “standards” the Conservatives set THEMSELVES is going to distract the Right from their “eyes on the prize!”

The G.O.P. sees this as an opportunity to FINALLY do away with the hated “Roe vs Wade” COMPLETELY! They aren’t about to surrender that chance on the argument of fairness and ‘precedent’!

The Republican core value has ALWAYS been, “Whatever it takes, to win!” They’re not about to change it now!

And yes, “Roe vs. Wade” is firmly in their sights, and Donnie has stated several times that he would appoint NO judge to a federal bench that did not agree to “overturn” that odious decision at the earliest time, possible!

And, also, to avoid surprises, the talk of doing ‘away with’ Roe vs. Wade is NOT the only “dream” that is whispered about in the hallowed halls of conservative thought! Getting rid of “Roe vs. Wade” is just the start, getting rid of all vestiges of “Civil Rights”, going back to a time when “homosexuality” was a crime, allowing “Jim Crow” to rear it’s ugly head, and, to a few, rescinding a woman’s right to vote, as well!

All of these things, devoutly wished for by Conservatives over previous decades, are now within their grasp! And, if Donnie manages to get REELECTED in 2020, The Court system he’ll build will stand through your great-grandchildren’s time – and there’s precious little we can do about it, now.

Conservatives in America aren’t “winning”, anymore – THEY’VE WON! Our “Ship-of-State” has ALREADY hit the iceberg – the hole has already been torn in our bow – we can now only wait for the icy waters to claim us and our loved ones!

They are called “Regressives” for a reason. They want to go back to a time when they and only they had power and were complete citizens in our former Republic, now a Plutocracy and has an external, if poorly run, Empire.

Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said that a Supreme Court Justice should be a “combination of Justinian, Jesus Christ, and John Marshall.”

Equal as the Constitution is gone and we’re all equally screwed.

Strange how so few Americans are even aware that America was invented and created by extremist Liberals as the world’s first Liberal Democracy. And the Constitution was the most radically Liberal document the world had ever seen to that point. So, yeah, let’s go with an originalist as an appointment.

Democratic Repbulicans versus Federalists were the first two parties, and Washington didn’t want either one. Like Shia and Sunni, the Democrat-Republican split led to a lot of change, and now, disaster.

The intro is wrong when they say congress can overturn the 22nd amendment. It would also have to be ratified by 3/4 of the states. That’s a tall order for changing the Constitution.
