heart: this is the best part of summer, don't you think, mom? mom: what's that? heart: you know, just sitting in a lounge chair, letting the brain rest. no homework, no studying. no math test coming. just plain, old doing nothing. mom: yeah, I'd have to agree with that. heart: of course, I've got about eight more weeks of this. this is just a weekend for you. then it's right back to work on monday. hammer and tongs. answering emails. putting out fires. I don't know how you-- mom: ok, got it! can we talk about something else, please?

I had a similar conversation with my daughter about 15 years ago. She’s working full time now and my retirement is just around the corner. Ahhhhh….karma!
