I’d have thought the first “GPS” would be gas stations. Nowadays most of the attendants have no idea what is where!

Always did that,if they didn’t you were in trouble.
Some don’t know where things are that ARE on their route….
“Yah cain’t get theah frum heah.”
My father used to get directions at any tavern on the route. (I guarantee he wet his whistle at the same time. )
