Yeah. I ran into the guy who bullied me through middle and high school after I returned home from med school. He was a janitor at the hospital. Every morning I would greet him and he had to answer, “Good morning, doctor.”
We had no choice. We had to work, helping my dad at his store and on the small almond farm we owned. In the summer my mom and dad would find my sisters and me jobs. After graduation from college I worked for the same company as an instrumentation engineer until retirement while teaching night courses at the local community college. This is no brag. It was just the way it was.

Yeah, and he married the prom queen who’s used to saying “what pump # did you say you were on?” But at least they were working unlike some people!

Could not STAND being unemployed! The most I was EVER without work would probably add up to only 6 months, tops.

It’s necessary to have something to do all during your life. I even hated sick leave when my leg was broken.
