Yes, and all that trash only weighs around 6700 lbs, since the weight of an object depends upon local gravity, and the Earth’s gravity is six time that of the moon.
I have my don’t believe that lighter story. Many other nondigestible items such as marbles, coins, keys, small toys, etc. have been swallowed and passed out of the body in one to two days so I sincerely doubt the lighter could have stayed in the patient’s for 20 years
I read one where a girl gets paid to get bit by mosquitoes. I wonder if she gets hazard pay or if the company paid her bill if she got west Nile virus or whatever the latest is. I wish I could get paid to get bit by snakes.Take care and God bless.
Re the Chinese guy – I am 1 of 9 kids, so my theory is that one of his siblings wanted to use the lighter and he swallowed it rather than hand it to the sibling. :-D

Well, who’s going to clean up those 40 tons of lunar rubbish? (Why did the Chinese man swallow a cigarette lighter in 1998 anyway?)

So, that’s what the hyoomans did after going to the moon. Hyoomans — trashing earth and space alike.

BTW, it isn’t 20 tons of garbage, exactly – a great deal of the weight is crashed space vehicles, or parts thereof.
