    SIGH! I actually have a decent nest egg, despite some job changes. Everyplace I worked that had an sort of stock market investment option I made sure to put a percent of my pre tax income into it up to whatever the company would match. Especially if it had mutual funds like Fidelity, as it’s options. After doing that for almost 25 yrs. it was a nice sum that I got to take with me and roll over to an Ameriprise stock fund (my wife had one she inherited from her mom). We are both less then 9 yrs away from HAVING to retire, or have Uncle Sam start to take a big tax bite from it. Based on what our advisor said we should be just as comfortable as we are now. I started reading and doing this stuff back in my late 20-early 30’s. It ain’t rocket science people. Most plans let you pick your investment mix. Till you hit 50 it should largely be in stock market funds. (You can also do some real estate stuff) When you get to 50 start moving it slowly to bond funds.
