“Artificial Intelligence” is one of the biggest misnomers in the history of science. We are only now beginning to scratch the surface of intelligence in the way our brains actually work, and most of the people supposedly in this field never bothered to even look at brain biology until very recently. And of course until recently they couldn’t duplicate it anyway. Putting a bunch of adding machines together does not equal “intelligence.”

OTOH, it is certainly “self-breaking”, i.e.; many people have been broken by them.
