I have no clue why people want to lay out in the sun and fry themselves…

I used to bake in the sun when I’d go to the beach….but that’s because I only had the opportunity a couple of times a year. Now I live in Florida and I sit on the beach covered up with long sleeves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen AND under an umbrella. That’s how you distinguish the residents from the tourists.

Along with the scar lines from removing melanomas and carcinomas — if you’re lucky enough to catch them in time. When I was a kid, we didn’t know that was a possible future result of a sunburn. Slather up, Katy!

The sins of our youth seem to often lead to poor health – cancers, heart attacks, etc.

Melanoma, or sun cancer, as the Aussies call it, is not fun.

The scientist’s measurements that the ozone layer is thinner in the southern hemisphere was supported by a still-attractive, 50-something co-worker’s visit (from Canada) to her home in New Zealand. She reports that all her old friends are now truly “beef jerky”.
