This is a contrast to my school days (pre internet) we used to call each other gay but we never inferred that in a malicious way except against this one kid who kept touching the other kids (unwantedly). Even then, we still included him in our activities.
The sad thing about this story line is that the idea of being called gay is insulting. It shouldn’t have any more meaning then if Skull had posted Nate’s favourite colour is blue when in fact it’s green.
