95 in June? We had that by April! (Which is why we have airconditioned schools now.)

To say “Our Parents messed up the Environment” is highly unfair to the kids’ parents. It would be way more correct to say, “misguided government policies and greedy business corporations messed up the environment”.

Actually, in many ways we can thank our parents, grandparents and great grandparents for improving things. The pollution in the late 1800s was horrendous. With wood and coal burning for heat and cooking, skies were heavily polluted. Buildings gradually turned black. Sewage and chemicals were dumped into rivers, lakes, and streams. But inventions and laws gradually began clearing things up, especially in North America and Europe. If it hadn’t been for them, climate change would have been far, far worse by now. (For the record, I don’t believe man is fully responsible for it, but rather, exacerbated it.)

Could we have done more? Possibly. But a lot has already been done, and is being worked on. If each of us worked on our own selves, and encouraged others to do the same, we can make a difference. We also need to encourage sciences and engineering to improve the equipment we use so it produces less pollution.

The correct term is climate change and has been for years now. Just like two years ago in NY it was colder on July 4th, 73º, than it was on Christmas, 76º.

It’s not global warming. It’s climate change. There’s a big difference. Calling it global warming leaves room for the ignorant, uneducated, and deliberately stupid to scoff.

I’d like to say pollution started back with our grandparents and even great-grandparents but it seems we’re all to blame given that every generation that inherited the problem never bothered to do much about it.
