Now we know why Honeybunch wears aprons in public, to hide snacks! (nefarious!)

And you chose aisle and middle seat and left the window seat? Just wait until you see the bloody hippo that’s walking over to sit in your window seat in a few minutes.

Southwest’s lack of seating assignments is no big deal – just remember to check-in 24 hours before your flight (as early as possible if you can – the mobile app is good for this) and you can always find seats together.

Far worse is United’s “basic economy” where seats are assigned, but yours don’t get assigned until shortly before boarding, so you have no clue about anything. And the fact that many web-travel-agencies don’t tell you they’re booking you in this extra-aggravating class until after the non-refundable ticket has been sold.

Southwest sucks. Just give me an assigned seat when I book already.

When my son was six, we had to fly to across the country to Philadelphia for a wedding. We reserved three months in advance, got 3 seats together. Then at some point they switched to a smaller airplane for the return flight and scrambled the seat assignments, so all 3 of our seats at least six rows apart. And the agent was no help whatsoever. She blamed “the computer”, and said there was nothing she could do. We had to deal with the other passengers to get one seat switched so our boy could sit with mom. So since then we’ve boycotted that airline (14 years and counting).

Last time we flew was after my shoulder replacement in Perth. Idiot PATS (Patient Assisted Travel Scheme for people in regional Western Australia) booked us seats apart. Hello? I need my husband next to me, he’s my Carer. Oh, and they forgot a wheelchair reservation as I cannot walk the distances in airports.

Once that was finally sorted, the attendants were lovely, got a pillow for my arm. Unfortunately it was my left arm and some jerks coming down the aisle knocked it from my arm to the floor.

Not fun. Thankfully the flight was less than 45 minutes and far better than 6-8 hours in a jolting train.
