When I was a kid, I used to be afraid to touch old people’s hands because the the “blood vessels” all over them. Now I have a massive crop of my own.
I had a friend who was able to move a bright vein in her wrist over a few inches and back. Coolest thing I saw that month!
It used to be that when people would get cavities, what passed for dentists of the day thought they were caused by worms. Worms that, as it turned out, were in fact nerves. They would try to pull the worms out, or cut them out. Which… ouch!
