It is not difficult to understand that the question could have a chilling effect on accurate counting. And the point is that we need accurate counting to assess infrastructure needs, and so forth.
It isn’t who knows it and who doesn’t – it is who gets counted, and who doesn’t fill in the census because they are afraid of the government. Putting on politically motivated questions taints the census and ensures people will not be counted. Which is the point of the Republican’s census – to over-count the people in the red states and under-count the blue states. If they can’t cheat by gerrymandering, they’ll cheat in whatever way they can get away with.
It should (but won’t) be made a crime -preferably a capital crime - to allow any other entity, including any other government agency, access to any census data which can be identified on an individual basis. I.e., to allow even the possibility that such data could be used for oppression.
Maybe there should be a whole line of questioning: Are you an American Citizen? If no, are you from a $h!thole country? If no, are you from Norway? If yes, where can we have your special “frozen uber” pick you up and take you to our preferred destination?

Declared unconstitutional in 1950. BTW in New Zealan even houseguests are counted on census day, and no asking of citizenship.

Blue states pay taxes for smaller red states.

Have I missed something in the news? I have no idea what Lisa is referring to with her “Democrat” wielding a guillotine.

This could get Lisa nominated for HYPOCRITE OF THE YEAR.

The point is that Republicans want to take votes from blue states so they are the ones with their hands on the guillotine.

@NOAH BUDDY RE: “doesn’t pay taxes, gets access to the government doll (free public education, unpaid for health services and more)”
You’ve got that backwards, they all work and pay taxes, but CAN’T get all that FREE stuff because they are not US Citizens.

Since this reflects #45’s { and GOP Establishment’s } views, could "MAGA’ really mean “KAWS?” That is, “Keep America White Still!”

^ Agree, #45’s views on much of humanity is a stain on America!
