Every committee I’ve been I was the one guy that did all the work.

That student reminds me a bit of Charlie Brown’s Marcie. And Mrs. Olsen is the heavy again…

I feel sorry for Mrs. Olsen in some strips. Every student in her class has an intellectual chip on their shoulder.

The problem with group projects is the same grade goes to everyone in the group. The group is usually a few people who are willing to coast and get a “C” and one guy who wants to get an “A”. So one guy does all the work, and the slackers get the “A”. Common in school, much more common than a few good workers and one slacker this strip describes.

Reminds me of the joke “when I die I want all my group project partners to be my pall bearers and lower me into the grave, so they can all let me down one more time”

Of course Mrs Olsen is ‘the guy’. That’s why she hands out assignments instead of doing them.

Call me naive, but in a college class full of professional working adults we were assigned groups of 5 for a major project worth more than half of our grade. I was shocked when only 2 of us did and completed the project since our professor refused to grade on an individual basis. I had a 4.0 GPA and refused to allow 3 people to lower it; the other student and I did the work of 5 people in order to pass. We (even the slackers) passed with an A. I go back and forth between me being a sucker and me being amazing dealing with that. Worst college experience ever for me. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend!
