So basically he is still doing the work the Deadlies want but doing it for free.
Just noticed that Invidia dresses in green. Nice touch.
And his people skills go a long way. However he is stuck in a preconceived stereotype.
If the wizard is powerful but still works for others as a low-paid gardener, he or she is not using their talents to best advantage. Finding a good gardener is hard these days, but finding a good wizard is even harder.
