The last movie I saw was at the Dollar theater before it closed. That was 10 year ago. I have not seen a movie on the theater since

I went to the theatre years ago..but the inconsiderate people spoiled the movie… cell phones, talking, stink of cigarettes, excessive cologne, farts, puke, and drunks…

now I catch the 7 pm movie on cable… xxoo

They forgot to draw the sign that says “Please, no outside food.” How else can they get away with those prices?

I just went to see the latest Harry Potter - $15.50 for the movie and $10.50 for a small popcorn and medium coke.

I too have not been to the cinema in years. Why would I pay big bucks for a ticket and concessions when someone is liable to ruin the experience by talking or I get stuck behind some giant that blocks the view. Besides my couch is so much more comfy.

As a family of 5, a trip to the theatre runs $30+ (tickets only) when I take time off work so we can go to a bargain matinee during the day. It’s closer to $50 at other times. If we just wait 6 months, we can buy the DVD for less than $20, watch when we want and in comfort, pause when someone needs a break or there’s an interruption, and see the show multiple times if we want…

…is it any wonder theaters are going out of business?

We have “stimulus Tuesday”at our stadium seating-multiplex theatre which is great. $5.00 a ticket and $2.50 for candy, $1.00 for small popcorn and $1.00 drink or a free cup for water. This is in a college town of 18-20 thousand. It is still more money than we would like but a couple can go out for under $20 easily.

Whenever I go to the movies I sneak in my food and drink. All you do is put it in a backpack.

We have a good time by going to the drive-in to see movies. My lovely female accomplice is free to smoke her cigarettes, and we are both free to enjoy a nice cold adult beverage, and yes, we do patronize the concesssion stand as well. And if we want to talk during the movie, we’re not disturbing anyone else. Plus, the drive-in we go to (as do many which are still extant) shows double features of first run movies for $7 per person.
