Stone Soup by Jan Eliot Alix: We've been trudging for miles!! I can't feel my FEET. Alix: The compass is frozen! I've been leading us in circles! Alix: We probably only have 30 minutes before we FREEZE to DEATH! What are we going to DO?! Holly: Go into the kitchen and ask Gramma to make us COCOA. Alix: HOLLY?! You're ruining the game!! This is the SOUTH POLE!! We're trying to find a research station!! There's no GRAMMA...or cocoa!! Holly: With MARSHMALLOWS. Alix: Guided by the scent of hot chocolate, our explorer brings the research station into her sights. Holly: SHUT THE DOOR!

Happy Birthday, Lightenup. I bet you hated having this birthday when you were a kid! I’m late starting on today’s workout- otherwise I might have made some cocoa when I’m done- as it is, it will be nearly lunchtime, so I’ll be having my whole wheat pizza with a big plate of jicama, sweet pepper and cucumber.

Happy Birthday,lightenup! Holiday birthdays are great! From Dec.14 to January 1st, my family now has 5 birthdays that we celebrate plus Christmas! Each birthday is celebrated separately,with separate gifts. Takes some planning and forethought , but it is worth it. Again- Happy Birthday! Enjoy your special day!
