The more I think about it, the more I find myself thinking that Trump’s tariffs are a net (tiny) positive. The blunderbuss of a tariff against every country comes off as dumb, but products as well as money are fungible, and it doesn’t appear there is much in place to prevent one country from buying from, for example, China, then selling it to another country. If anything, the blunderbuss approach should be expanded. If steel in imported finished products isn’t subject to a tariff, then those few manufacturers still in the U.S. will have even more incentive to offshore. And what will the tariff do to auto production?
Even a warthog in a china shop can do something potentially good on occasion, despite their greatest efforts. Maybe. In any case, I think the reaction to our blowhard president’s action is overblown in this case.
Trump is the one in the big-boy chair. He has claimed the stock market, the rise and the fall. His party has forced a tax cut on the rich and raising prices on the middle class – too bad, Obama’s economy was working for him. Now his little baby mouth has talked so big about a trade war – what ever is to come in 2018 is on his shoulders. No matter how much he tries to pretend this is Clinton’s fault.
Actually, considering the fact that America is currently ‘awash’ in domestic terrorist groups including the one that is acting as a ‘conduit’ for the funneling of Russian money to the various Republicans’ campaign coffers, otherwise known as the American Rifle Association, it is not surprising that Donnie is taking actions that absolutely will continue to destroy America’s stature in the world, as well as businesses and jobs here at home! How much or how little is yet to be determined – we just know, at this time, that it WILL!

Carl Icahn made off like a bandit. Under Trump’s administration insider trading is legal if you’re a Trump confidant.

Who else but an enemy of the US would advise an American president to start a trade war to disrupt the economy at a time when we took on heavy debt?
