A.C. Milan is a professional football (soccer) club in Milan, Italy. Cecil is probably reading Franz Kafka an early 20th century writer. Not sure who Andy is referring to. Maybe a fan of European soccer can help out.

I’m an Italian admirer of A.C. Milan. Maybe Andy is confusing Kafka with Kakà (pseudonym of Ricardo Dos Santos). He played in Milan some years ago, and played very well.

Presumably people in the UK are for ever tripping over folk reading Kafka in a bar.

WOW! A day of learning from Andy. We should get him a PhD in football & football history. How many non-Brits really knew that one. GREAT JOB to the Andy Capp team! Now back to my speed – the canal.

Sad day today.

It was my last day at work after being there for 1 year and 3 months. My boss wasn’t in so I said my goodbyes to her yesterday. I brought in a “Thank You” card for everyone to thank everybody for their help, support and great times!

I got presented with a bunch of flowers, a gorgeous cake and a card and a colleague bought me a few small things as well.

I actually saw my mentor come in with the flowers but she used the other door, I saw her on the CCTV on my desk! Oopsy.

‘The Prisoner’ was very ‘Kafkaeusque’.

Kafka also wrote about the individual oppressed by the system.

In addition to writing, Kafka also invented the bicycle helmet. The man may have been a bit of a downer, but at least he had the right idea about safety.
