The Trapps were smart enough to climb over the mountain, and leave the country where they weren’t wanted, and couldn’t take over the government.

I’m glad you antiwar posters aren’t the US “committee to decide war policy”!

what? take all US military out of the area? Give the Iranians and Al Qaeda and the Taliban unrestrained rights to whatever lands and victims they choose?

Any Westerner that fails to recognize that Global Jihad planned by whatever ethnic or national group is aiming for the entire world, driven by the same madness afflicting the genocide expert Ahmadinejad of Iran, is a monster security problem for Israel and the USA and all non-Muslim governments, has rent-out space in his/her skull!

pullouts of American and NATO troops anywhere they are attacked by terrorists who are attempting to seize control of newborn democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan, would be national suicide of the West.

So, DisTax, you want U.S. troops to remain in Afghanistan indefinitely, but you don’t want to pay for them?

By your lights, they should work for free, and get weapons, food, supplies, &c., donated to them?

In addition, you want others to do the fighting & bleeding in Afghanistan? You aren’t willing to enlist & stand up for your cause?

DisTax, you don’t make a strong case for staying in Afghanistan if you refuse to pay AND refuse to serve.

^Agreed. We should never have gone there, and we should get out as soon as possible.

Oh, and disgusted, why should our country care if it’s a threat to Israel. Israel adds nothing to our security, our economic health or our standing in the world. It costs us money and then spies on us.

I guess it is like the domino theory that if one country becomes communist the others will follow. Oh, wait wrong war, 35 years later.

Since Vietnam won the war And became communist how has that affected the world? How has Vietnam affected the USA security and our world view? Just questions I think we should ask. And then we should think about Iraq and Afghanistan in another 35 years from right now.

What will winning or losing do for the USA?

The reason I support Israel is because it’s a postage-stamp-sized nation surrounded by those who would push it into the sea.

Does Israel have spies in the U.S.? No doubt. Does the U.S. have spies in Israel? No doubt. The Jews have learned from bitter experience not to rely too heavily on the good will of their non-Jewish friends.

Personally, I think the “Two State” solution is a pipe dream. at least until we’ve had, say, 200 years of stability. Israel’s boundaries, INCLUDING administrative control of Gaza and the West Bank, are commonsensical (and, given the relative areas of the land involved, not worth the fighting over).

Leave Jerusalem as an independent “free city” under Israeli administration. It’s too important to the Jews, the Muslims, AND the Christians to assign it to any single People in terms of sovereignty (and partition doesn’t seem to have worked). In the interests of World Peace, it seems (to me) like the Israelis ought to let everyone have free access to the city, so long as nobody is allowed to be excluded.
