    Actually if there is enough airborne yeast that gets to the mix it can can ferment fairly quickly, it happens sometimes and yes the birds do get drunk. This guy’s probably just getting his fix…

    We’ve had some aggressive hummingbirds that will approach us humans and fuss if we let one of the three feeders go dry.

    And NEVER make your nectar with honey!!!! They get a fungal infection and it kills them!! 4 cups of water 1 cup of sugar. Boil it and let it cool while you are disinfecting your feeders. You can make it more concentrated in the winter to provide more energy for them. No need to put red food coloring in the solution.
