The owner should set up a sign: “Slingshot practice ground – The Kindergarden Management”

Reminds me of when my mechanic proudly showed me his new waste oil heater and I asked him why he would want to heat his waste oil.

Also confusing is a sign that says “Fine For Parking”. They don’t mean that is is okay if you park there. They mean they will charge you a monetary fine if you park. Many words have more than one meaning.

My brother & I- even though we knew what the sign meant- drove my parents crazy with the “Bear Left” sign. Did it mean the bear was on the left & we should watch for it or had the bear moved & not to bother looking for it.

Comments remind me of when I visited NYC a few years ago. I noticed signs along the curb that read “No Standing Allowed” and wondered why anyone would want to stand so close to the street in the first place. It was later explained to me — in California the signs would say “No Parking”

Once, an aunt of mine asked us if we knew what a certain sign was for. Yeah, we thought we did. But she explained that in the early 1900’s a Commanche Indian went hunting and never returned. His name was Falling Rock. To this day, they’re still looking for him with the signs that say, “Watch for Falling Rock”!
