So far they have worked together on common enemies (the shrink, the vacuum). Moo Mittens has saved Poncho’s bacon a couple times, without acknowledgement. And Poncho thought he was saving a baby kitten from being sent to the Moon. So they maybe have more to build on than North and South Korea.

My cat was born and raised with dogs. He loves playing with them. He does not attack them. He’ll walk up to a dog and say “Come on, let’s play.” He is just friendly to dogs.

Dogs and cats have one big thing in common. People. That’s enough, really.

I have a year old puppy that: (a) takes pills without spitting them out, and without a major production; and (b) is not frightened by our vacuum cleaner. On the other side of the coin, he has a bad liver and is never more than a week away from dying from that problem. I’d rather have a dog that spits pills out and runs from the vacuum cleaner.

Never phased our cats or any of our dogs either, probably because I did it every day. Only our last furbaby, our yellow Lab, Buddy Max was not fond of the vacuum.
