I think Pierpoint KNOWS where Gunther is going – he just doesn’t want to admit it. Of course, ‘P’ has been an associate of ‘G’ long enough to be aware of what the “point” of the conversation was for years, now!
From my perspective, “Christmas morning” is past; so, as I see it, Gunther is off the hook for any indulgence of his. Anyway, just deal with it, Pierpoint. Ho ho ho, and all that!
