When the flood subsided, Pavlov found that many of his research dogs had died, drowned in their cages. Some had survived. It had been a nightmare week for them, no food, little sleep as they had to keep standing with their heads above water to avoid drowning.
As he resumed experiments, Pavlov observed something remarkable: those surviving dogs, who had been through an incomprehensible hell, had had all their carefully conditioned reflexes wiped from their minds.
Thus began the famous era of Soviet brainwashing. After all, man is no different from a dog, just a bundle of reflexes. Do this to a man, and he will become your perfect Communist.
