This reminds me of the Jack Paar joke that led to his walking away from the Tonight Show in 1960, about the woman wanting to know the availability of bathrooms (water closets, commonly called just “W.C.”) in the apartment she planned to rent. The person answering her list of questions thought she was talking about a “wayside chapel”, and went on to praise their local one…located 9 miles outside of town, seating 229 at a time, only open on Saturday & Sunday, etc.
I was enjoying my Sunday comics and got to Betty in Italy. It had been interesting. But, really, politics didn’t need to be in the last panel regarding the election or eruption. Can’t you just be entertaining????
