Reminds me of when Doonesbury created Ron Headrest (parody of Max Headroom). He was supposed to attract kids into having an interest in politics (I think!), but one day he decided to advertise a number to the White House as one to call with questions about AIDS.
Real people called that number. Turned out to be a real number… but not to the White House.
