When I was a kid that was a very exciting thing. Ahh… the smell of roasting leaves.
I remember wrapping potatoes and sausages up in aluminium foil and putting them in the pile before striking the match and then pulling them out when the fire is done and having a great lunch as a reward for raking all those leaves.
