French toast in France is called pain perdu … “lost bread.”
French fries are called fried potatoes, of course…
and French (salad) dressing, the thick orange-y kind in bottles from Kraft and the like….
is called “Sweet junk stupid Americans pour over a nice green salad to ruin it.”
It’s a little long but they don’t have to put it on the menus, anyway, cos nobody orders it.
