I use to make a number of $40 donations to a about 8 different groups; then I figured out they were likely losing money on me as they would send out frequent donation request with calendars/mailing labels … so they likely spent my $40 on all the mailings they sent.

Your name is on the list now so be prepared for many more begging letters from your government officials. After all someone has to pay for all the money wasted.
