    I’m afraid that’s a terrible conflict of interest situation. He might be tempted to foul to drum up business.

    It reminds me of a fellow at the Renaissance Faire, who was “interviewing” to get a job at a massage booth. Things seemed to be going OK until someone interrupted to tell him that the guy, whose shoulder he had dislocated wrestling the day before, was recovering nicely.

    “Chiropractor” always reminds me of one of my all-time best, spontaneous quips (true story):

    Many years ago, a woman I worked with had just gotten off the phone with her chiropractor. She was extolling the value of chiropractic treatment, and also mentioned that her chiropractor had children. Thinking of the health benefits she assumed the children must enjoy, she turned to me and said, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a mother who was a chiropractor?”

    Without missing a beat, I replied, “No, I don’t think so. My mother is manipulative enough as it is.”
