Indeed, Jimmy Kimmel was very upset that Cassidy lied to his face about how well-prepared and how will written this health bill was being presented. A senator might be important but he doesn’t have the fan base of a TV talk show host. I wonder if that will affect his next run for office.
I assume it has occurred to at least SOME G.O.P. members of Congress that all this ‘behind closed doors’ maneuvering and ‘not letting anyone have a clue’ about what’s in a bill before it’s voted on IS going to come back to “bite” them, big time, when (not if, but WHEN!) the democrats regain control of the House and Senate! The G.O.P. is establishing a precedent of not allowing the opposition party (or even their own members!) ANY inkling or say in the crafting of legislation and are, in effect, saying that "this is the way we want things to be run from now on! You may “think” that that’s exactly what the democrats did when they crafted the Affordable Care Act, but it’s not! At every step, republicans were invited to participate, and they voluntarily chose NOT TO DO SO! And, now, the Repubs are establishing that the invitation to participate DOES NOT NEED to be extended!
The GOP rat’s latest secret health care bill. Trump said cheaper and more coverage. The GOP says it will be more expensive and less coverage. We’ll have to wait until 2018 to see what the American people say about that.

Kimmel admonished all his viewers: TELL YOUR CONGRESS PERSON. His attitude has been one of thinking for the little guy. KIMMEL FOR PRESIDENT.

I’m guessing that the GOP will pass a redacted version of Obama-Care. They will then pat themselves on the back for doing such a great job!
