How do you know you’re not a simulation that was given self awareness?

Simulating an entire universe would allow for a massive amount of variables to be accounted for, allowing for as precise a simulation environment as possible. Those microbes galaxies away may not SEEM important, but you never know what sort of effect they may have on their surroundings, and how much that might filter through on to your center of focus.

Granted, this is a bit of an extreme example, but I know in science, the more precise you can make a simulation, the more you can guarantee accurate results. Never assume something may be irrelevant.

Besides…if your subjects in the simulation are self-aware, the more precise the universe, the less likely they are going to be able to figure out it IS just a simulation.
