This being a classic strip from 47 years ago (from which I was 10 back then), it’s quite accurate!

Thank you veterans for your service, I salute you.

I’m a vet and I can’t remember the last time I had Veteran’s day off as I’m in retail.

In honour of all the Veterans:

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,

Between the crosses, row on row

That mark our place and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly,

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow

Loved and were loved, and now we lie in Flanders Fields.

I always admired Charles Schulz for always paying homage to our veterans and armed services members on Veterans Day and DDay. As the classic DDay strip with Snoopy swimming toward the beach at Normandy puts it: “To Remember.”

What’s that Snoopy’s holding to his face? I seen to remember seeing one, long ago. Imagine the fun Schulz would have had with the concept of cell phones and texting. Woodstock trying to text his little hashmarks, Marcie texting love messages to Charles behind Peppermint Patty’s back etc. Too bad hw couldn’t have done another 50 years.

Bill was a mensch, Snoopy—I’m sure he understood.

Hi. I’m new to Peanuts and it’s not the best timing but will ask nevertheless. Does Peppermint Patty ever realize that Snoopy is in fact a dog and not a human child?
