This was one incredible storm, dropping on average 7 inches and hour or more. A record busting 50" of rain is unprecedented for this part of the world. it is common in tropical areas near the equator. We have never gotten that bad. The last time for Houston with catastrophic flooding was 15" in 1938 and torrential flooding happened. Got to see it on Rachel Maddow last week when she talked about Harvey. Double the amount in less than a 100 years. Will the next storm do the same. Called “Erma”.

Katrina occurred in 2005, Obama became president in 2009. So yes, it’s true for once, Obama never got crowds like this for Katrina.
