In re the character’s realization at age 40: It doesn’t hurt to be a Bush. Of course, he did screw things up for Jeb, the Bush with a few brains.

Well, who knows? Jeb may run in 2016, figuring that people will be ready for another Bush.

G.B. Trudeau decided to use election week to remind us of our narrow escape after eight years of Bush-Dick.

Unfortunately, it appears that voters are about to give the Bush-Dick party a little more power.

And Roland didn’t have a father who was President.

Can’t decide which is more annoying, the actual spam or the people who have to talk about it every day like something will change.

Maybe he’s afraid to draw it, analogous to the way the members of some religions cannot produce renditions of their prophet/religious figures. Hmmm… But, when in doubt, there’s always room for Bush-bashing!

JRC - I keep hearing this “pandering to the lazy” rhetoric. What specific new policy do you have in mind? And it has to be one that was not already in force when Obama took office.

Neolib is out in force today, showing her usual arrogant contempt for the vox populi and her fears of the judgment they are about to pronounce upon Obama’s policies.

Not just the Tea Party but many of us independents who voted for Obama two years ago have been disillusioned by his fiscal policy, particularly his rescue of the Wall Street banksters. He promised us a change from Bush, then let Summers and Geithner talk him into carrying out Paulson’s ruinous TARP.

Before we give him any more tools to dig us out, Obama needs to show us he understands the pit we’re in and he has to explain it to the people. Failing that, he’s just saying “trust us”—-something a majority of voters are no longer willing to do. The vox populi has wised up since 2008. (Anyone who scoffs at this truth is a neolib, as defined in my logo.)

Maybe GT’s “icon” for Obama is the fact that you never get to see the real person. (No, I’m not anti-Obama…just bothered.)

Neocon - seriously, how does someone who self-identifies as “Neocon” claim to be an independent? As far as showing contempt for the vox populi, how would you characterize the right’s stance toward our constitutionally-elected president? Didn’t that election represent the voice of the people? Or was it the voice of the wrong people?

Sooner or later I’ll have to check the news to see how the election went. Being a Canadian, in Canada, I am entirely out of touch. Only good thing, I feel no responsibility to vote.

Obama looks like a little boy that doesn’t know what hit him in recent weeks. Time to wake up and make good on some of those campaign promises – like lowering unemployment for starters. I know he has been stymied by the repub bankers and business owners who refuse to give loans or create jobs until their party is in power, but it’s his job to figure out ways around their tactics. Just like he figured out strategies to defeat Hillary.
