Right Chesney. You are certainly thick in the head!

Good thing for Chesney he wasn’t near my place last night. We had a strong thunderstorm while I was at work. We got 3 and a half inches of rain and lightning struck 2 trees within one block of my house. One tree was just a few yards from my driveway. It was the second time that tree has been struck by lightening. I think it was just last year when it was struck. The other tree that got struck by lightening was about a block from my house. Such a big storm – we were under a tornado warning for a while around 8:00 PM. Luckily, the rain stopped long enough for me to safely drive home, then it started raining again. And they say we could get up to 4" more rain tomorrow night! I wish we could stop the rain for a while!

Since as someone likes to point out, this isn’t Facebook and since many of you are not on Facebook, it’s the perfect place to inform you that my brother Mark is continuing to improve after our car accident last month. Mary got to have “face time” with him on the phone today so they were able to see each other. She found out that Mark now has a smaller trach tube and he can talk, but only one word sentences. He still writes everything in a notebook to converse with people. But he is able to walk unassisted and he can go to the bathroom by himself, so that’s progress. When Mary expressed sympathy that he was so seriously injured while she and I were not hurt at all (she was hurt a little more that I was), he wrote “stuff happens” (actually, he used a different s-word). He is still upbeat and the nurses all say he is their favorite patient. I don’t think I could be as upbeat as he has been if I was spending all these weeks in the hospital – especially in summer (my favorite season!) while my garden was going to weeds and I might be missing my harvest. Mark is an amazing person.

Oh and speaking of my garden and the comment above about the storm, well that strong storm blew down my corn and blew over my scarecrow, Clyde, too. I stood Clyde back up, but I don’t know yet if my corn will be saved. Sometimes, it stands itself back up and sometimes it doesn’t. And I had ears that were maybe a week or 2 from being ready to pick. And it could be tomorrow night’s storm will do even further damage to my corn if it’s a strong storm like last night’s storm was. If any of you out there are in need of rain. I’ll try to send you our upcoming storm. We sure don’t need it!

The Van Job i had yesterday was a dry run. The lady just wanted to see how long it would take me to get her into the van, then how long it would take to get her to the Dr. office.

After that we went to Starbucks (drive through) and to a parking lot for beach access.We just sat in the van and watched the ocean, people and pets on the beach.

She was absolutely thrilled!

Thanks for everyone who supplied tips for my TV yesterday. I currently have it unplugged and will leave it that way for a while. Paul and I wasted our afternoon yesterday with a doctor’s visit. He had an ultrasound done in one shoulder because he is in constant pain and has reduced mobility. He was supposed to get a cortisone shot yesterday. The doctor decided against the shot, and has ordered X-rays and an MRI. He kept us waiting in the office for over an hour to take 3 minutes to tell us this. 4 wasted bus fares. Just keep taking over the counter meds and suck it up, buttercup. We go back in September for test results and hopefully something will be done then. I am feeling very grumpy still.

What with balky TV’s, shoulders, corn crops, trolls, unhappiness with Facebook, I will try to combat this with some kittens and kitties. I make no guarantees that Facebook or Photobucket will allow you to see them (that’s out of my control). but I will make the effort with, OMG, twenty cute kitty videos (I need to learn when to stop looking), and ten pictures.
