Hard working Americans from the Heartland are sick and tired of the elites on the coasts telling them what to do. They cry out for someone who understands their struggles and shares their values. So, they voted for a spoiled trust fund baby from New York City with two foreign born wives who lives in a golden tower.
The Confederates’ concern over the rights of women under fundamentalist theocracies abroad are part of their ‘toilet paper strategy,’ in which they loudly affect to give a **** about the rights of women, minorities, gays, handicapped, etc., in sunny lands across the sea, so that they do not have to give a **** about them here.
Nope, it’s as if the RIGHT is being inconsistent to suit their purposes, and are lacking in principles, or at least nuance.
If you’re going to demonize all Muslims because of ISIS, then you have to demonize all Christians because of the hard-right conservatives who put their women in purdah, too. Or take blame for the Aryan Nation, which claims to be Christian.
Liberals criticize conservative Islam as they do conservative Christianity – for their restrictions of women, and support of the death penalty (the Catholic Church is anti-death-penalty, did you know that?), and killing those not like them.
